Payment and Refund Policy
Last updated: 06 November 2026
Scope of the Policy and Services Covered
This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of digital courses, professional resources, and related services offered by factrionix. The services include access to materials on studio equipment setup, dynamic camera operation, lighting and sound waves, and workflows for television news and live shows. It covers both one-time purchases and subscription-based access to the platform. This policy governs transactions made through the website for customers located in the United Kingdom and explains the terms under which payments are processed and refunds may be issued. It does not apply to third-party services or physical goods.
Prices, Currencies, Taxes, and Additional Charges
All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include applicable Value Added Tax (VAT) at the current UK rate. Additional charges may apply for premium features, extended access periods, or customised training modules. Any such extras will be clearly shown before payment confirmation. Prices may vary based on promotional offers, but once a purchase is completed the agreed price remains fixed for that transaction. Customers are responsible for any currency conversion fees imposed by their payment provider if paying from outside the UK.
Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation, and Security
We accept major credit and debit cards, PayPal, and bank transfers for UK customers. Payment is authorised immediately upon order submission through secure third-party processors. All transactions are encrypted using industry-standard SSL technology to protect card details. factrionix does not store full payment card information. Authorisation confirms sufficient funds and validates the card; however, actual settlement occurs after order confirmation. In cases of suspected fraud the transaction may be declined without prior notice.
Order Confirmation and Contract Formation
Upon successful payment an order confirmation email is sent containing details of the purchased resource or course access. A binding contract is formed when the confirmation is issued, subject to these terms. Access to digital content is granted immediately after confirmation unless otherwise stated. Customers should retain the confirmation for their records as proof of purchase.
Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, UK consumers have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase during which they may cancel for a full refund, provided the digital content has not been accessed or downloaded. For subscriptions, cancellation can occur at any time but refunds are limited to the unused portion after the cooling-off period. Services already commenced may not be cancellable once delivery has begun with consumer consent.
Refund Eligibility, Exclusions, and Non-Refundable Items
Refunds are available for unused digital content within the 14-day period or if the service is defective. Exclusions include cases where content has been substantially accessed, promotional bundles, or customised resources. Non-refundable items also cover any fees already paid to third-party platforms. Eligibility is assessed case-by-case based on usage logs and purchase records.
Step-by-Step Procedure to Request a Refund
To request a refund, contact [email protected] or use the form on the Contacts page. Provide your order number, full name, email address associated with the purchase, and a clear reason for the request. Include any relevant screenshots or details. Requests must be submitted within the applicable time limits. Incomplete submissions will delay processing.
Inspection, Approval, Rejection, and Notification
Each refund request is reviewed within 10 business days. We inspect access logs to confirm eligibility. Approval results in immediate processing; rejection includes a written explanation citing the specific policy clause. Notifications are sent via email to the address on file. Customers may appeal a rejection once by providing additional evidence.
Refund Method, Processing Time, and Receipt of Funds
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing takes up to 14 days, though credit card refunds may appear sooner depending on the issuer. Bank transfers can take longer. Customers receive confirmation once the refund has been initiated. No interest or compensation is paid for processing delays.
Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions, and Promotional Offers
Digital downloads and course access are non-returnable once started. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Promotional offers are subject to their own terms and may not qualify for refunds if the offer explicitly states final sale. Partial refunds for subscriptions are calculated pro-rata based on remaining access time.
Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks, and Suspected Fraud
Failed payments must be resolved within seven days or access is suspended. Duplicate charges are investigated and refunded automatically upon detection. Chargebacks are treated as disputes and may result in account suspension pending resolution. Suspected fraudulent activity leads to immediate account hold and reporting to relevant authorities. Customers disputing legitimate charges may face additional fees.
Mandatory Consumer Rights in the United Kingdom
This policy does not affect statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, UK GDPR, or the Data Protection Act 2018. Customers retain the right to remedies for faulty digital content, including repair, replacement, or price reduction. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury, or fraud. For complaints, contact the Citizens Advice consumer service or the relevant ombudsman.
